The Cottonwood Institute is a 501(c)3 educational nonprofit based in Denver, CO whose mission is to inspire students to become active community leaders and environmental stewards through an exciting blend of adventure, wilderness survival, and environmental service. All of our courses teach students essential camping and wilderness survival skills, while providing them with the tools and resources to tackle important environmental issues in their community to help change the world. We offer a public high school initiative called the Community Adventure Program, Summer Courses for high school students and adults, Design Your Own Courses for schools and community groups, and Outreach Programs that introduce students to the concept of sustainability and teach them specific ways to reduce their environmental footprint both in the backcountry and throughout their daily lives. High school credit, college credit, and scholarships available!
